History: Wat Phra Buddhabart Tak  Phaa, is a Royal monastery. The scenery is beautiful, the temple is located up on the mountain between Doi Mon Chang and Doi Crua. Along the way toward the temple entrance, you can see Vihan Jaturamook (วิหารจตุรมุข), which covers the Buddha Footprints and Phra That See-Khruba (พระธาตุสี่ครูบา) on the Doi Crua mountain which is an outstanding place to visit.

Wat Phra Buddhabart Tak  Phaa, built around the year 1200 years was the period when Queen Cham Thewi came and occupied the city of Haripunchai. She had a great faith in Buddhism. Therefore, she helped to build up the Mandapa in order to cover the Buddha Footprints to enshrine the Buddha. Apart from the beautiful scenery here, this temple was established by the faith of the public. Afterwards it became the important place for locals right until the present. In the temple, there are many places to visit: the Buddha Footprints that are located at Vihan Jaturamook and also small Buddha Footprints. Also Ubosot in  theThai style building where the arched windows contain an exquisite decoration of 12 Chinese zodiacs, plus Vihan Phra JaoTanjai the old Vihan, which was built during the same era as the temple.

“Roi Tak  Phaa” (รอยตากผ้า) meaning “the stain of hanging cloths”, it is a myth about the  robe of the Lord Buddha in the past. He came from a long tough journey and stopped for relaxation here. He asked Arnon (his follower monk) to wash his robe and hang on the cliff there. Up until now, there still appears the stain, its believed that the stain is the same as the Buddha robe stain. The shape of the stain is a square and curve, resembling a monk's robe.

The stain has a checkerboard pattern, similar to the ridge of India in the Buddhist era. Phra That See-Khruba is where the relics are located up to Doi Crua Mountain. It was built to inherit the will of Kruba Chaiwong. The relics are based on Lord Hari Phun Chai’s style.
